"I want to talk a little bit about watercolor paints. I'm sure most of you use the sort of flip up tray of cake watercolors as kids with the little brush that comes with it. Don't use that if you are really trying to learn about watercolors. You want to go for a nicer watercolor something that comes in a tube because of the viscosity is actually more like an acrylic paint. It's not as watery. You're going to use water to water them down but there is much more color pigment in a paint like this. I'm going to show you a little bit right now. I'll squeeze some out for you on my pallet here. As you can see, it's actually quite thick and it's a lot of pigment in there. So you're not getting a runny watery kind of paint and it has a fair amount of pigment in it and this is a really basic watercolor. You can get nicer watercolors with even more pigment in them and they tend to be a little more expensive. So as a beginner, I would suggest these are about three or four dollars each so try to find something like this and that would be perfect."
