"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Libby Caldwell and I'm here to tell you about watercolor journaling. When we start with the reflective journey workshop, everybody starts by making their own journal and this is a finished journal and I'll show you the components that makes this book. This is the fabric that makes the cover. These are the two pieces of heavy board that make the back and front of the book and then the pages, I use a high quality drawing paper for this. I don't use watercolor paper because it's too thick and when you try and have the pages all together they tend to open the book on their own. So we start by folding all the pages individually in half and get them together in groups and each group is called a signature. You line up the signatures and stitch them all together and if you look here you can see the signatures, I think there are four groups there and everything is stitched together and then we use reinforcements like this, inside they're glued around the stitching and then the pages are put into the cover and we make the cover by just sticking these pieces down, sticking the edges over, put the pages in the middle, and then after that, we just put some decorative paper inside the covers and this is the typical journal that we work in."
