"JOEL SIEGEL: All right. So we're going to do another variation of this eighth note, eighth notes and a kick. We're going to go from doing the two eighth notes on beat three and the upbeat of three. We're going to take three back down to just the quarter note on beat three, and then we're going to put the eighth note instead on the upbeat of one. So we're going to go one-&-three, okay? That's our kick drum pattern, okay? As far as everything lining up, it's pretty much--mechanically, it's exactly the same, okay? You're going to have your two eighth notes on your hi-hat, lining up with the two eighth notes on the kick drum, okay? And everything else is just like as before. So this is what it sounds like. I'm at that slower tempo of 70. Take a listen, take a look at what my foot is doing."
