"JOEL SIEGEL: Alright. So, the next bar in the beat--it's actually--this beat is a two bar beat like most beats. In this kind of series, where we've done all the rock stuff that we've done, most of the--I think pretty much all the beats have been contained in one bar. So, because this is going so fast, the pattern kinda expands two bars. So, in the second bar, what's happening is you don't actually have the downbeat, the one on the kick which is like--you pretty much had it every time so far. So, instead, you have the upbeat of one. So, three, four, one-and. Three, four, one-and, okay? And actually, if you would think back, we have the upbeat of four as well. So, we're kind of saving those together and we have one, two, three, four and one-and. Three, four and one-and, okay? Makes sense? So, we have that upbeat of one and that's going to lead into our standard backbeat of two in the snare. One and, two, okay? And two. High hat is the same throughout so we just have those eighth notes, okay? So, the first beat, one, two, three, four, one and two, okay? So, so far, we've got--okay? That's what's going on and beat two is just that snare and the high hat and then the eighth note on the high hat. We'll cover that last--those beats three and four of the second bar in the next clip."
