"JOEL SIEGEL: Next, we want to cover our traditional grip. The same goes for rods and sticks. Don't think because you're playing rods, you can't play traditional. Firstly, you can always do whatever you want as long as it's in hopes of expressing the music better, aiding the music, making yourself more comfortable. These are the things to keep in mind. With the traditional grip, we'll do our down, up and full stroke. Let's start with our up stroke."
