"Hi my name is John Armstrong. I'm a professional guitar instructor and today we are going to be discussing beginning classical guitar. Now this next exercise deals with the D, the E and the F notes. As stated earlier the D note is the open 4th string and lies right below the musical staff. The E note is the 1st line on the musical staff and for now we would be playing it on the 2nd fret using your 2nd finger. The F note which is the bottom space of the musical staff for now would be played 3rd fret of the 4th string using your 3rd finger. This next exercise would deal with those 3 notes. We are going to change things up a little bit with the right hand. For this exercise using the notes on the D string I will suggest using the P the thumb. Once again using the rest stroke bringing that thumb down and resting into the 3rd string. Into the G string. The exercise is in 4,4 time uses a combination of whole notes, quarter notes, and half notes. Give yourself a blank measure first 1,2, ready begin and 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4, and 1,2,3,4."
