"Hi my name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com and today we would be starting intermediate classical guitar. With this next C major scale we are going to give you two octave scale we are going to double up the amount of notes in the scale. We are also going to be doing what is called a shift or a weight transfer. We are going to shift from the 2nd position scale up to a 5th position and then back from 5th back to 2nd position. Once I start the scale started off just like I did the last scale. But, I want to reach this B note in order to go to the next note the C note I'm going to shift up and use my first finger. What I will do is once I'm at the B note notice that I started to shift my left hand down. I have transfer the energy down it sets me up to a 5th position. Watch how we do that shift again with my left hand. Backwards descending down the scale in the same exact spot now I'm shifting, I'm transferring energy back to shift into a 2nd position. Here is the scale."
