"Hi my name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com and today we would be starting intermediate classical guitar. Next I will like to discuss with you today some scales playing some scales in the classical guitar. We are going to start off with some C major scales as you could see here I have a one octave first position or open position scale. Starting here at C, open D, E, F, open G, A, open B and a C, and descending, A, open G, F,E, open D, and back to C. Important when playing this to alternate back and forth between the I and the M finger using rest strokes. Something that I always did with scales when practicing scales was to alternate between quarter notes. 8th notes. Triplets. And 16th notes. That is a method that you could practice with all your scales."
