"JOE WILES: We're going to take a look at number 13 on our countdown, which is "Adam's Song" by Blink-182. Let's take a look. Now, before we get into the explanation of the song, I need to tell you my whole guitar, every string on my guitar is dropped down a whole step. So instead of E, A, D, G, B and E notes, this is D, G, C, F, A, D. So all the strings on the guitar are dropped down a whole step. Now, if you don't want to retune your guitar, all the positions will work fine. It just won't sound the same as the way I play it or the way they play it on the CD, okay? Now, to start off, like a lot of Blink-182 songs, it's just a moving bass note followed by an answer phrase. In this case, the answer phrase is on the D string on the 4th fret with your pinkie and then you open it up and hit the open D string. Okay? Now, the bass notes start on the 2nd fret of the A string, then the open A string. Bring your ring finger down to the 3rd fret of the low E string, open E string, back to the 3rd fret. Okay? Just like that. Slowly, if you'd like to play along, it sounds like this. In the next segment, we're going to take a look at a rock and roll classic. It's "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads. I'll see you there."
