Playing "Are you Going to Be My Girl" by Jet

"JOE WILES: Hi, this is Joe with the Rock and Roll Conservatory. Welcome back. We're going to take a look at Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl." Let's go to the guitar. Now the song kicks in with some tambourine and some bass and then when the guitar actually kicks in you're going to want your ring finger on the 7th fret of the D-string. And then we're going to follow that note with the pad of our index finger on the 5th fret of the G-string and the B-string. This will start out our riff. This first a little bit sounds like this. Again. Then we're going to take our ring finger and our pinkie put them on the 7th fret right above our index here, the 7th fret of the G-string and the B-string. We're going to bend that up a couple of times. And then release it back to where our index finger is on the G-string and the B-string. Follow that up, put our ring finger on the 7th fret of the D-string and then we're going to move our index finger to the 5th fret of the D-string. Slowly that riff sounds like this. Again that sounds like this. And then we begin with the chords. It's an A-chord using an E-chord form. The fret count goes 5-7-7-6-5 and 5 again. We're only going to aim for the low side. And then we're going to use the pad of our index finger again on the 5th fret of the G and the B-string to answer that. And then go back to that chord again. And then we're going to play that introductory riff again. To speed, that sounds like this. Take your time on that one that's a lot of stuff to process.
