"Hey this is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. In this little segment we're going to talk about "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n' Roses. Let's take a look at our guitar. If you have a delay pedal you'll want to set it to triplets like a 1,2,3 1,2,3 1,2,3 setting for the rhythm. The riff is based around your open B string. We always return to that string as we go down through this riff o.k. But to intro it you just kind of palm mute it real lightly with your right hand and let that delay pedal ring it out like that. now when we actually start the riff, we'll be on the fourth fret of the G string. Second fret of the G string. Fourth fret of the D string. Second fret of the D string. Fourth fret of the A string. O.k. So there we're, you let that B string ring out a bit with the delay. To start the riff you're going to hit each note through this sequence but go back to the B string and then back to the original note. It sounds like this and then the next note. Next note. Next note. Open D. Again slowly that's, o.k. To speed that riff sounds like this. That's a really tricky riff because it incorporates a lot of alternate picking and jumping strings. Give it a practice it'll be good exercise for you. Our next segment we're going to go over "Cherub Rock" by the Smashing Pumpkins. I'll see you there."
