Video Transcript

"Hey, this is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory, on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment, we're going to talk about "Paranoid", by Black Sabbath. Let's take a look at the guitar. We're going to start out this riff on the seventh fret of the A-String, with our index finger right about here. Then we're going to go to the D-String, on the ninth fret with our ring finger. And on the G-String on the ninth fret with our pinkie. OK? That?s the basis of this song right here. Now what we're also going to do with our index finger is lay it down and pad these three strings, behind these two. That's padding the A, D, and G-Strings on the seventh fret. What that enables us to do is lift these fingers up, and bring them back down and still have a note. We're going to hammer these down to make the song work, and we're also going to use it for the riff. The riff goes like this. To speed, it sounds like this. In our next segment, we're going to talk about "Anarchy in the UK", by the Sex Pistols. See you there."
