"JOEL SIEGEL: Alright, I want to demonstrate upbeats of one, two, three, and four. This is basically a continuous hi-hat lift. It means if we're lifting on every beat, on every upbeat or coming down on every downbeat, okay? So, take a look, take a listen. We're at 80 bpm. Alright, so that's what it sounds like. That's what my foot is doing. You can tell it's basically just keeping quarter notes. It's hitting at every single downbeat, okay? So, as you play along with me, I'll count you in. We're at 80 bpm. If you need it slower, practice it on your own with your metronome. Take it down of 60 or 70, whatever is comfortable. One, two, ready, play. There you go all the upbeats on the bar with the hi-hat lift."
