"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Jim Dufresne, I'm here to tell you about jazz guitar. One of the main definers of culture is the different kinds of music that pertains to that culture. The country people have their particular kind of music that they listen to. Urban populations have hip hop for better or worse rather you like it or not it doesn't make any difference. College kids have punk and they have alternative rock-n-roll, classic rock-n-roll. I know a lot of young kids that listen to classic rock-n-roll. That's a fine thing, they're trying to get a grasp on the situation music is one of the definers of culture and we all belong to a particular culture. Whatever that culture is generally speaking I don't mean to insult anybody but most of the audience jazz audiences die of old age. It's only by curiosity that young people have exposed to jazz music and its culture in the 50's. The biggest most of the terrible thing that has happened was the total rejection of rock-n-roll by the jazz cats. And by the religious rights you remember back then people would take a rock-n-roll record and talk about how bad it was and the devils music and so on and break that record, times has changed now we have to break CD's"
