"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Jim Dufresne, I'm here to tell you about how to make a living playing music. We're getting back to this is America idea some people make themselves indispensable and there's various ways to make yourself indispensable. It's to learn as many songs as you can learn, hundreds of songs and many different styles. That's why it's so important to learn about jazz because jazz comes along and somebody says "you know what I need a guitar player or I need a bass player, I wonder who should we call. Well Jimmy plays bass why don't we call him or he plays guitar let's call him up." We know he plays jazz and if it's a wedding we're going to have to do some rock in roll songs, maybe some country songs. So the more styles of music that you learn the more valuable you’re going to become to your fellow musicians, it's just common sense."
