" Hello! My name is Jim Sivard on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’d like to demonstrate the basic fingering of a scale on the bass clarinet. Probably the easiest scale is the G major scale in the lower register. I’m starting on the low note G, which involves my left hand covering the thumb key and the front 3 keys. My right hand fingers are covering the 3 keys, and of course, holding up the instrument with my thumb. I’m going to raise one finger sequentially and demonstrate these notes. I’ll say the names of the notes as I do them. This is low G. This is low A. This is low B. This is low C. This is low D. This is low E, or I should say middle E. This is middle F sharp. This is middle G, one octave above the note I started. "
