How to Perform a Spooky Writing Trick

"I am a professional magician, and today we are going to go over some basic magic tricks. This is a part of a trick you might have seen David Blaine do on recent television special. You are going to reveal a card in a unique way. You are just going to have the deck shuffled. You are going to hand it to them and tell them to cut the deck. They cut the deck, and you say we are going to go ahead and mark the cut, and you ask them to think about a type of card that they would select, let some time go by, talk about, we need an ashtray so you get an ashtray. This is our ashtray for the example. And you tell him go ahead and peek at the card that you have cut to, they peek at it and then you tell them to complete the cut, and set the deck aside. You do not go near the deck after that it is all done. You just tell him to keep concentrating on the card, thinking of the card. You are going to hold out your arm, you are going to pick up some ashes out of the ashtray, and you are going to keep rubbing your arm and look close, the 7 of diamonds, which is the card they selected, shows up on your arm, and you have seen it on TV, people go crazy, so it is a really good trick."
