"I am a professional magician, and today we are going to go over some basic magic tricks. When somebody hands you the pack, you have to get into the setup position, which is that just flipping the bottom card over. And it is important to make sure they do not see that so you just want to hold the deck, this level, because if you are just talking to somebody casually, and they happen to glance by the sides of it, the jig’s pretty much up. So to get into this position, when somebody hands you a deck of cards, you can say there is numerous ways, one you can just walk away and turn it over and come back, you can say I need to check, check this deck here to make sure you have no jokers or anything, and as you are doing that just flip it over and come back. If you want to do it in front of him, the best way to do it, is to push that card off with your thumb; and as this hand comes forward, and you are talking to them, just flip it over as is the motion of looking up, like you guys want to see a trick, and as you look up they are going to look up a second after you, and that is when you want to just to turn it over. It is no big deal. Even if people see it, they probably really do not know that you are doing it anyway; and they do not relate it to the tricks. So do not worry too much about that part, just get into setup without anybody seeing, and you are good to go from there."
