" Hi! I am Joe Marshal with expertvillage.com. I am a professional magician, and today we are going to go over some basic magic tricks. This is the portion of the trick where you slide the coin off, pretend to have it in the hand, it falls into your lap. You want to have your napkin that you use throughout the meal sitting in your lap, so that it falls there, and not between your legs onto the floor. So you are at this point, where you have slid it off, you have picked it up, and you are about to set it down on the table to make the noise. This hand goes underneath the table, and your bicep is going to touch the edge of the table, is an anchoring point when it does, your hand can come back and pick up the quarter, but you do not want it just like go down and pick it up, it is too obvious. So you want to make sure that your hand goes way under the table, apparently, like you’re going way into the center of the table; and then the hand just back tracks back to pick up the coin. So hand dives under the table, comes back around to pick up the coin, and it brings it directly underneath. It just mirrors the top hand, so when you tap on it you are really tapping on the table underneath; and then when you set it down, you just set it flat underneath the table, do a little waving motion, and then show that the coin has gone through the table. This is just a different angle on what goes on underneath the table; so you can see it better we are just reversing the action. Coin is slid off into the hand, this hand goes underneath the table deep. You just want to make sure your bicep’s hitting the edge of the table; and the reason for that is when this hand goes over here, and this hand rolls back, it does not look like it is in you lap, it looks like it is underneath the table far out still. Once the hand comes back and grabs it, it really does go that far; and then you will mime hitting the table, laying the coin down, and rubbing it through the spot and showing that it is vanished or penetrated the table."
