How to Play "Shout at the Devil" by Motley Crue

"Hey! This is Joe Wiles for the Rock and Roll Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. This first song we're going to look at is Motley Crue's Shout at the Devil. Before we start, I want you to drop your entire tuning down a whole step. To do that, you're going to have a D, a G, a C, a F, an A, and a D from low to high. Let's take a look at the guitar and learn the song. Starts out with an open A string. We're going to pad the 5th fret of the D and G strings here. We're going to do the same thing again, but this time, we're going to put our ring finger on the 7th fret of the D and G strings. Between each of those, we're going to do a big rock and roll slide like this. The song is going to kick in. It's a lot simpler. It goes open A, open A, 5th fret, and then we go. Okay. That's 5th fret on the A string, 7th fret on the A string, 5th fret on the D string, back to the 7th fret on the A string, then 7th fret on the G string, and then 5th fret on the G string. Like this. Together that sounds like this. The second time we do that riff, the only difference is at the end instead of going like this, we go like this. We hit both of these. All together, that riff sounds like this. As with most of these songs, it's not too complicated if you just give it a thorough examination.
