How to Play "Scar Tissue" on the Guitar

"JOE WILES: We're at number 35 with our top 80 most downloaded guitar tabs. And this is "Scar Tissue" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Let's take a look. All right. We're going to start with our index finger on the 8th fret of the A string and our pinkie on the 10th fret of the B string, okay? This is the first broken chord we'll do, okay? Then we're going to put our pinkie on the 9th fret of the G string and our ring finger on the 8th fret of the low E string. And we're going to pick the low E string with our pick and use our ring finger here to pick them up at the same time. Then we're going to slide them, both fingers up to the 10th fret of their respective string. Watch my left hand as I do this--okay? So far, we're here. You may continue. You're going to hold off from that--on the G string from the 10th fret to the 9th fret. We'll go back to the first chord. We're going to release that to the 8th fret, and then we're going to do that slide again and then we'll let it ring. All together, slowly, it sounds like this. And then we're going to go to the 12th fret of the G string and pull off to the 10th fret twice. Give it a try. In our next segment, we're going to look at number 34. I'll see you there."
