"When you're choosing your camera, you need to understand that there's various forms of digital cameras. The most basic form of a digital camera you'll find at most of your major electronic retailers, is just going to be a point and click digital camera. Again, this is a camera that's going to handle all the decision making for you. You're just going to have to look at what you're going to shoot. And, press the button when you're ready to shoot it. Most of these cameras are going to store the images onto a memory card. Or, sometimes directly on to the camera. Now, there are upgraded digital options. Such as, digital SLR like this. It still shoots in the thirty-five millimeter format. But, having it all digital gives you many more options. For one, you get to see your images right after you shoot them. A second thing, is that you can take more than twenty-four and more than thirty-six images. I was the type of person that used to burn through a lot of film. Another wonderful thing about digital photography, is that you don't have to get all your pictures developed in order to see what they are. So, you can delete a lot of things that you don't like before you have to pay to have them printed. There are also medium and large format digital options. These get rather expensive. And, if you're just getting your start with photography and you want to go digital. I would recommend digital SLR. That way, you have the controls to do things manually. But, your not making such a heavy investment. And, then if you find yourself really enjoying it. Maybe, in the future upgrade to a digital medium format. Or, even large format camera."
