"If you are just getting into photography, you might find that an automatic camera is the best thing for you. If you want to put more of your emphasis on composition and just taking photographs quickly and for fun, you might want an automatic camera. An automatic camera is definitely going to control the shutter speed and the aperture for you and it gives you the ability to pay more attention to what you are shooting and not as much about how you're shooting. Typically, I always have a manual camera with me but it doesn't hurt to have what I call a side-arm; a little automatic camera with you as well and this way, if anything goes wrong with your main camera you have got something to fall back on, or if you just need to do something real quick. Again, I think that automatic cameras are good for people who are really young or maybe a little bit older who are just getting their start. They want to focus more on what their taking photographs of. If it's just pictures of their grandkids or pictures of their friends their maybe not worried so much about depth of field and shutter speed. They just want to point and click. If you are the type of person that wants to get out there and just snap away and just take pictures without thinking about it so much, an automatic camera is probably going to be the best thing for you."
