"JAYNE ENTWISTLE: I'm Jayne Entwistle with ExpertVillage.com. [PH] ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: And I'm Andrew Stubblefield. JAYNE ENTWISTLE: And we're teaching you the basic rules and structure of improv. We just learned 'yes-and', and 'what are you doing?' Now, we're going to learn a very important, somewhat, tricky game called, "who, who, where, what". Now, as I explained earlier, every good story has a who, a where, a what, and a how. What's going on in this--what's going on in the scene? What's going on in the story? So this is a game, "who, who, where, what" that really allows the actors to understand where they are. If you walk out on stage and everyone just kind of stands there, and hums and huzz. Nobody knows what's going on. It's really nice to walk out on stage and have somebody tell you who you are. "Hello, Ms. Morgansen." Oh, great, I'm Mrs. Morgensen. Already, we have a start to the scene. So this is an excellent building block of improv. ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: Great. So I'll go ahead and start. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Smith." JAYNE ENTWISTLE: "Well, hello Johnny Walkensen." ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: "Ah, I was on my way to the store, which--why don't you come along?" JAYNE ENTWISTLE: "I would love to. I need to buy some eggs." So as you can see, we have the who, the who, the where (was the store), and what we're going to do. We're going to buy some eggs. ANDREW: Yeey. JANE ENTWISTLE: Who, who, where, what."
