"We are back and we are going to talk about the music alphabet. I'm sure you all know the English alphabet, it is twenty-six letters you have not forgotten that. The music alphabet is much easier, there is only seven letters ABCDEFG. I'm glad I got that right that would have been embarrassing. Anyway after G we start over on A and this is important so that we can read music, we can understand music, and we can write music it is important to understand that. Let me show you the first string. I told you earlier it was the E string after E we are going to play the F and the G that is the first two notes we are going to play EF and G. We are going to go ahead and move on to the second and third string and it would take some time if this is your first time to get use to these notes. The second string is a B string followed by a C and a D. BCD. First string is a G followed by a A G and A. So if I start on this A and climb up you can see the alphabet ABCDEFG, ABCDEFG okay. You might have notice I sometimes move only one fret from open to the first fret, sometimes I move two frets from C to D and F to G . I want you to think of two frets as a whole step it is good terminology. Remember whole steps is two frets and a half step is one fret open to one fret. This would be important later okay. So we have the first three strings G and then ABCDEFG. Okay so do that for about a thousand times and then we would come back and we will learn some techniques with the left hand and we would start playing some stuff and having some fun okay. "
