"JAMES MENY: That being the case, when you do this, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, it's hard to do it because we have trained our voices to satisfy our need to hear ourselves in our ear. So in other words, when we go higher in pitches, we get louder. Why? So that we could hear it. The audience thinks that you're getting louder because you're just trying to be louder. But it's really to satisfy our own need to hear ourselves. If you're singing a true high note, it's actually going to get softer inside your head. And this will train it. So if you take the idea that as I get in to higher pitches, it's going to get softer, tinier, whinier or deeper into my head and allow that to be okay with you, then this exercise will be real easy."
