"Hello my name is James Colonna from Cherry Hills Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this next clip we'll be talking about understanding basic technique approach, rebound and velocity. These 3 things all tie into each other and how you approach the drums and your stroke concept every aspect about what your doing. People are going to come at you and say oh you need to play this certain way and play that certain way that's not really true, everybody's hands are different everybody thinks differently you know you have to do what's comfortable for you. These things I'll be teaching you are a stepping stool getting in the right direction this is how develop my own personal sound, this is how you can develop your own personal sound. Each one helps the other one you know when you talk about approach your approach on the drum is basically your rebound and velocity, that is what your approach is. Your rebound comes from your velocity stroke, your velocity stroke becomes from the fact that you have to be able to rebound being able to play as hard as you want to play. You don't have to play hard to have a good sound you don't have to get a lot of rebound to have good sound. These are tools that will help you play faster help you play more complex rhythms with ease you don't have to think as hard everything will come more natural. Your rebound and velocity are going to help you do when comes to playing fast when it comes to being more aggressive or confidence level, everything will improve with these 3 things to approach, rebound, and velocity."
