" Hi my name is Jared North and today we are going to be talking about the proper posture in holding the pick before you start to play. What you want to do is grab your guitar, go ahead and play it over your knee, very comfortably, and hug it around with your right arm or left arm depending on what hand you are. Your right hand should always have a thumb centered directly on the back of the neck. Your hand should be very comfortable and your wrist should remain as straight as possible. If you are playing like this it can create some confusion and is a little bit harder to play. It’s a lot more comfortable to play with your wrist straight. Make sure that your posture is straight. You want to grab a pick by holding your hand like you are gripping a knife. Slide the pick between he thumb and the finger and bring it over make sure your arm is resting on the bridge comfortably and start playing. And that is how the proper position for a guitar is played.
