"Okay, now we're going to talk about writing a song for radio. First of all, you're wasting your time writing a song for radio if you don't have radio type of production. Clear the air. Second of all, when you're writing a song for radio you have to keep in mind time. Radio will not play records that are over three minutes and thirty seconds. Period. Point blank and period. They will not play a record that is over about three minutes and thirty seconds, so you always want to keep yourself in that comfortable range. Which goes back to our bars. You want to write a twelve or twelve and an eight period. the radio is all about, when writing for the radio, you want to think about what's hot at the time. Not to follow trends because I don't tell rappers to follow trends, I don't believe in following trends, I believe in setting them. But you want to write a song that's very, what they call listener friendly, real ear friendly. You know, real sad songs usually don't make the radio. You haven't heard too many sad songs on the radio. You've heard a couple, especially in the R"
