"Now we learned how to play and construct are E minor melodic scale on the violin. But now let's look at it on staff paper take a look. Here is our treble clef now if you see there is a number one on your E that symbolizes our first scale degree, F sharp we have two. If you see we have a V shape symbol connecting two and three this means is a half step. Remember our V shape equals a half step, four is A, five is B, six is C sharp because we always raise the sixth in a minor melodic scale. Next is our D sharp and we have seven eight being connected by this half step symbol which is this V symbol. Remember in a E minor melodic scale or any minor melodic scale for that matter two and three, seven, eight are half steps in the sixth is always raised."
