"Now we learned how to construct and play a G minor melodic scale on the violin. Let's take a look at it on staff paper now. So you have key signatures right there now we have a G it has a number uno, one under because that is our first scale degree. A natural has a two for our second scaled degree, you see there is a V right here. Our V shape represents a half step because on a G minor melodic scale between two and three and seven and eight are half steps, 4 C 5 D 6 E and it's a E natural on a minor melodic scale, you raise a sixth. You raise the six and then the F sharp has a seven under it and it's a half step away from eight so there is a V under it."
