String Skipping Diminished Arpeggios in Metal Guitar

"Hi this is Gary Schutt and I’m going to talk to you about string skipping diminished arpeggios. Diminished Arpeggios are made up of minor 3rd intervals; it’s a very diminished, demonic sound. The shape that we’re going to use today, we’re going to start on the G 12th fret G string, B flat on the G string, skip over the B string, and play the E 12th fret E string, and then the G on E string. If you can pick each note great, but you don’t have to, you can pick – hammer on – pick – hammer on, and then come back down. It’s okay if you don’t pick every note. Now you can take this shape and move it up every 3 frets, so if we’re starting on the G, take this shape and move it up to the B flat, play the same shape up there. And we can take this shape, move it up to the D flat, and continue doing so every 3 frets because they’re all linked together. And if you want to go even further than that, you can take that first shape I showed you, take your tapping finger on your right hand and play B flat on top of that. "
