"Hi! I am Grady Johnson discussing 16 mm films and today I am representing Expert Village.com. I would like to talk to you a little bit about choosing a projector screen. Now you don’t actually have to have a screen but if you have a good screen that has reflective surface on it, you are going to get a much stronger, better image. The advantage of using the screen is this is something you can go ahead and setup in your living room. Now most of us are used to watching television and setting this up in front of our sofa or easy chair is kind of what we are all used to and that makes a great movie night. Now when you are looking to do that, you might want to go on-line and look or checkout at your local camera store to see if you can find one. But you know there are also a lot of these just hanging out in garage sales, in the recycler, penny saver, that kind of thing, any of these local magazines and auction places where you can find them. Now when you are looking for a projector, you want to look at several different models, I don’t like to name brand names for obvious reasons, but some that we grew up with are going to be very, very familiar. When you look at this projector, you’re going to notice this is the kind of projector you probably grew up with when you went to school. I know it’s the kind I grew up with and it’s one of the reasons I wanted to buy it. I just wanted something that had functionality. You want to be sure it has a case on it, just because dust collects in these, there is a lot of wheels and gears and lenses, so you want to kind of keep the dust off it, so it is important to get a good solid case on it. Be sure that when you are looking at the cord that comes with it that is not frayed in anyway, that it is a good solid cord and that the ground is intact and not cut off, like some of them are that way, so you want to be sure of that, so that so that you shouldn’t run into any electrical problems. Now when you get into the projector and a little later on we will get more into that, you are going to see a few other things that are extremely crucial like the arms when they pop into place, they need to pop into place and not swing around. So you want to be sure that all works when you are buying a projector. Now I found a projector for $20 that had a few problems. It had been banged up a little bit, but you know it had a good cord on it and it had a case that was covering it and all of the arms popped into place the way I had hoped it would. The only thing that was wrong with this is it did have a bad lens and this is very important and if you don’t have a good lens, you’re going to have a pretty lousy movie and it’s not going to work properly. I was able to replace that lens very, very easily, I looked on-line, I thought that I was done, but when I looked and found out how inexpensive the lens was, I was able to spend just another $20 and turn this into an excellent projector."
