"To play the Rain stick, start by getting all the beads down to one end. There. Now when you're ready to start playing, turn the Rain stick to the opposite side. It's that easy. Then you have to turn it the other way to keep it going. Now, to really keep it a long time. As, let me get this back down here to the end. As you're tipping your Rain stick, turn it slightly and you'll be able to keep those beads going a long time. See how nice that is? You probably heard this instrument played in some of your popular recordings. Maybe some of us have wondered, "What is that instrument?" Well, here it is. It can also be used as a shaker. I'm going to show you that right now. Get your beads down to one end. Then flip it a little bit with your hand to where the beads are and start shaking it as you're tipping it. So, while I'm shaking it the beads are going down the tube as well, giving me different shaker tones as I'm doing it. Have a listen. Create a circle motion with this side with your hand, leave this hand stationary. See that?"
