"Hi, ladies and gentleman my name is J-Adam Smith of Violin from the Heart and Fiddle Team USA. The sound that you just heard there probably sounds pretty familiar to you at home. If you have a child that is taking lessons, you as a parent have a very, very important position in their violin learning and experience. You’re their cheering squad. You have to understand that those sounds will come out of anyone who is starting a new instrument. So, please, those sounds should be enlightening your soul and not scaring you. Those sounds are fantastic. Now let’s think about little bit what parents have to know about their children playing the violin. Again, you are their cheerleader. You are trying to help them and encourage them to play. If you have to remind your five-year-old or six-year-old to brush their teeth, you are going to have to remind them to practice their violin. Does mean that they don’t want to play? No. Does it mean that they cannot be successful on the violin? No. It just means that it isn’t as fun as other things. Now, it still can be very fun. I can you tell you right now that my parents were very, very supportive and very, very motivating for me to keep playing on violin. I am a violin teacher talking to you today because of my parents. So, you parents out there, please be aware that you have a vital, vital role with your children playing their instrument. I am J-Adam Smith of Fiddle Team USA."
