"So, we talked about right and left making sure the child can see were right and left play on the piano or on the music. I just want to go back and tell you one more tip that might help you out. Pull out your own music at this point. You're going to show off a little bit. The kid loves listening. They really do love listening to piano music when it's well done. It's just fun and sadly they probably don't hear it very often unless they have a parent that plays but it's not like we listen to piano music on the radio or anything. You know like Hannah Montana doesn't play piano. So, pull out your piano music and ask the child not to like read it because it might be like, "Whoa! Scary." Although, it is slightly motivating to be like, "Whoa, you mean I can play that some day?" Yes, you can play that some day and just ask him or her little questions most importantly, where does my right hand go? Where does my left hand go? And they should be able if you point to this box, the child should be able to say, "Oh, up here, these notes are right hand and these notes are left hand? How do I know? Because the top of the box is right and the bottom of the box is left." In this case, it happens to be a poco a poco just some words their and the child won't realize that those words aren't words that you sing but that doesn't matter. They'll be able to say, "Oh, above the words is right and below the words is left." And you might've notice haven't mention the treble clef this fantastic symbol here or base clef this fantastic symbol here because that not necessary what you want to associate with right and left. You want to associate it visually by where it's space not by the name of that clef or by the position of that clef because as you know that can change."
