"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Husain Abdul Alim. I am here to tell you about carving figurines. Putty and maybe a little bit of glue cause you can see I got a crack down here. So, I might shoot the glue in there first so it doesn't spand anymore. And I think that is the toughest spot and then we are going to throw a little bit of putty behind it. I got our nice Elmer's nice and loose, give this a chance to set up and up top. Not too critical up top because I am going to put hair up here. I like these pieces because it gives you a little bump and extension and hallow on the inside. It makes it a fuller mask. Thus more expensive. Not time wise but because of the piece because the wood itself, not so much time I put on it that the expense come in at but the quality of the piece, but the piece is saying wood. The kind of expression it is giving you is where I put the dollar value at. Not that I put twenty hours on it, no. But that is the fun part of it, putting the title on it and putting the price on it; coming up with a name. And then when they are sold I don't know what the heck it is unless I have got a picture of it, I don't know what it looks like. Unless I see it on somebody's wall while walking in. Here is a nice, at the top of the eye really needing it; some putty. This one had a few cracks in it, this is some Sycamore from over here in Lake Montezuma. I know a fella down in Tuscon that does masks out of palm leaves. In fact I have one of his palm leaf's over here, palms. It use so great because he doesn't get a lot of variation in texture or size or description, palm leaves come pretty much the same; palm. So sometimes if you don't let the wood dry out before you start or cure, you know start on a piece right away that you find in the woods and next thing you know here comes some bugs. Next day bugs are marching out. So you put it in the water, put it under the water, flush all the bugs out, and add some stuff for termites. Then if there is any holes, you know putty up the holes. Of course you got an excellent piece."
