Finishing a Round Vase

Now that your base is leather hard, whether you've let it dry naturally, or you've cheated with the torch, you can pull that form right out of there and it'll stand up on its own. And the final thing that you need to do to finish this piece off, is finish the edge. You can do like I did with the square vase and just round off those edges, or if you want something a little bit more decorative, I'd smooth off the corners just a little bit with this sponge and then I'm going to do the same thing that I did along this edge and I'm just going to pinch the top of this vase. Going to give it a little bit of a fluted edge and it's going to tie that detail that I put down the side. So there we have a cylindrical vase, made from a slab with a rolled in coil embossed detail.
