So now I am going to show you another way to add textural decoration to your slab. I have got this slab that has already been through the slab roller. I am going to smooth it just a little bit and then I am going to take a chunk of clay and I am going to roll out some thin coils. They don't have to be perfect because they are going to be smushed out into this clay anyways, just like making snakes when you were a little kid. And then just lay them on your slab in any sort of design that you want, you can make an actual shape that represents something or you can just go kind of abstract and once you have laid these shapes into your slab you are going to run it right through the slab roller one more time at the same thickness that you already have or even a little bit wider if you want them to stand up from the clay which can be kind of a nice texture as well. I think I will show you that. I am just going to set these a little bit wider than before, and roll this slab, I need my wheel, right on through. And as you can see we just have an added texture to that slab. It is going to stick because it has been pressed in there pretty well. And now we will make a vase out of it.
