Okay now I'm going to take my same dragon fly plate and I'm going to add some more details to it by slip trailing. First I'm going to smooth out these edges that I cut, they're a little bit rough. I just want to make them just a little bit nicer. Now I've got my slip prepared and I've got it in this ketchup bottle. Now this has been sitting for awhile, if you have prepared slip in a bottle you want to shake it, because the water will tend to rise to the top. You want to make sure it's nice and consistent. Now once you've got it ready, you want to test it. Squeeze it out on your finger, make sure that it's big enough that it can stand on its own, it's thick enough for that. Now once you've done that, you can add your details. It can be anything you like. You can just do little dots for a little bit of added decoration. You can accent the rim of a piece. The possibilities are really endless with this slip trailing. You want to let it dry kind of slowly so that the slip doesn't pop off the plate, because we haven't scored underneath where it goes. But this is just as far as your imagination will take it. You can do any shapes, any designs you can think of. And it just adds a nice little extra detail.
