"Another way of working with slabs, is called slump molding. It's the opposite of hump molding. In hump molding you're laying the clay over a form over a hump. In slump molding you're laying the clay inside of a form. And you're letting the clay slump into the mold. You can make you're own molds out of clay and then bisque fire them, that's a fantastic way to get a slump mold. You can use plastic plates that you buy at your grocery store, you can also make them out of wood. You can even make them out of Styrofoam insulation siding sheets. They're about a half inch thick. They sell them at The Home Depot and you can just use a jig saw to cut out a shape out of the center of the piece of Styrofoam and then lay the clay into that. So there's a number of different ways that you can do slump molding as well. And I'm going to show you first, how do it using just a plastic plate that you buy at your grocery."
