"OK, we have let our knob set up and we've cut it off the bat and we've got it right here. And we've got trimmed lid ready to put the knob on. The first thing you want to do is take the rake scorer or just the needle tool and make several cuts there and get it wet. This is a version of scoring and slipping. But instead of adding slip, we're just making slip directly on the lid itself. So you want to make sure it gets pretty moist. Make it real goopy. This connection needs to be very secure. Because you are going to be picking up the lid by this knob after all. And then you want to do the same thing to the knob itself. This is a little wetter so it doesn't require quite as much moisture. And now that we're scored and slipped we're ready to connect."
