"So now that our lid fits, we're going to take this whole thing with both bats and flip it over. That way we can cut the lid from the bat that it's sitting on. Press down very firmly against the bat. You don't want the wire to come up in the middle because then you'll cut more of the clay off of the lid than you really need to. Now the bat can come off and you want to let this sit for a while, because this is still very wet. You see how you can see my finger lines in there? It's not leather hard yet, and you need it to be for the trimming. So this will sit. But I happen to have one here that's already ready for trimming. So I'm going to take this same tool and I'm going to show you how to smooth this into a dome so that it's ready for the knob, and it looks nice and clean for the casserole."
