So now that you have got your extrude length of clay you can cut it into segments to make whatever shape of handle your going for. I like to do several loops and I start with a long piece and then I put a shorter piece in the center and first you want to make sure that you've smoothed over the edge of each one of these. That keeps the cracking from happening as badly and I'll take this and just hold it in between my fingers and pull these towards each other using my fingers to make a loop and then pinch this together and smooth it. Do the same thing with the larger piece just pinching it and smoothing it. This is going to get messed with some more so it doesn't have to be completely smooth. Same thing with the smaller piece. Now once we have got the pieces made we can assemble the handle itself.
