"Another really nice decorative handle is what I like to call a crescent and the way I do that. Take another hand full of clay again you?re just going to roll out a coil. This time a little thicker than it was for the braid because it's not going to be three layers it's only going to be one. I would say maybe a half an inch diameter on this coil and once you have got it nice and even just pick it up from the center. Keep your finger underneath that loop and make a curl and then make a smaller curl and twist it out. Then hold this on this side. Make a curl make a smaller curl and twist it out. Now on this handle I do want space. So I am going to let this set up with a little bit of space in between each coil. The reason for that I don't have the nice curve like I do on the braided handle and you need something to grab on to. So this gives your fingers a place to get a really good hold when you?re trying to pour out of the batter bowl."
