So now we've got our bowl the shape that we want and it's time to pull the spout. Turn off your wheel because you don't want to accidentally step on your accelerator ruin what you've already done. Get your fingers really moist and just moisten up an area on the edge get it really wet. You don't want to have any friction here or you will pull the spout right off the bowl. Now once it's nice and wet you?re going to take your hand and make a pinching and pulling very gently and you need to across for whatever width you want your spout to be. You want to start the pinch down low. It's a little bit like milking a cow where you want to bring the pressure down in stages but the other way. You need to release as you get towards the top and then you can slowly bring that pinch higher and higher for the starting point. With the same bring the pressure release the pressure as you move up and this takes a little time you've got to be patient if you try to do it too fast like I said you can pull that spout right off. You also want it to be very even and uniform and the only way to do that is with gentle strokes and patience. So once you've got it pulled as about as much as you want it to be pulled you want to take your sponge and just smooth it out. Smooth the rim and smooth the outside and then you'll take your left hand and just put your fingers on either side and use the sponge to push that spout out and there you go.
