"Alright. Now we're going to show you how to do the basic step for Bachata as a couple. Okay, so the gentleman is going to take his right hand, place it on the lady's shoulder blade. That's up here guys, not down here, up here. Okay, on the other side we're going to use our ballroom hold. So gentlemen, just make a "v" with your hand, and the ladies are going to rest her hand in it. We're going to keep this hand up here. Okay, It doesn't really matter which way you start. As a general rule, guys tend to start with the left foot, girls with the right. And we're going to start on count one of the music. So it's going to look like this. We're going to do our step together mirroring each other. We're going to step one, two, three, tap, step together, step, tap, step together, step, tap, step together, step, tap. Okay, let's try you from this angle so you can see how it works. Again, here we go. Step together, step, tap, step together, step, tap, one, two, three, you can add the hip, five, six, seven and turn. Step together, step, tap, step together, step, tap. Now again, like I was saying before, Bachata doesn't have a lot of rules. It's not very structured. So you can feel free to kind of travel around. You can go side to side, you can turn around in a circle, you can also incorporate that forward and back basic which looks like this. The guy goes forward, two, three, and back, six, seven, one, two, three and five, six, seven. And again, feel free to drift around. We can travel, five, six, seven. No rules, just go wherever you want as long as you keep that basic step, okay."
