"We're going to show you how to do one-handed turns with Merengue. This dance is very unstructured. There are not a lot of rules. So, we're doing our basic step, and all we're going to do to get ready to turn is slide out again. Slide out, and now we've got two hands held. From here, we can use either hand to turn in either direction. You can use your left, lift it up, and you can turn o the outside if you want, or you could turn the other way. You can also use the other hand, turn to the right, or you could turn her to the left. Gentlemen, you can also turn yourselves. So, you pick it up, turn yourself and make sure you're not giving her any signal to turn while you do that. Same thing for the other side. With Merengue, you want to keep the basic step going. So, you don't want to do any fast spins. As you're turning, the guy or the girl, you just want to step it out and turn it slow as you do your basic step. That's it for the one-handed turn."
