" Hi! My name is Frank, and what we’ll look at in this clip is just adding different styles into your one style; so you’re just fusing styles. Maybe it’s jazz and rock, which is a very common one, maybe it’s funk and rock, maybe it’s all three: it depends on the music you’re playing and what the music calls for. But if you can add different styles to your music, you’re going to be a little bit more of a versatile player, which is really good to be in the drumming world. Versatile is good; that’s why we have all the instruments in the first place. Let’s take a look at in combining the different styles from the other clips, 1 3 1 2 3…that wasn’t just one style, but that’s a lot of small notes, a lot of big notes, a lot of phrasing. I don’t think you’re going to hear that on the radio, but you’ll see it in the club, you’ll see it on the stage. It’s good to do; I encourage you to practice it at home too."
