Hi, I'm Emily Larew, and we are continuing on adding to our tap basics. We're going to learn the drawback right now. So, as you can tell the name, we're going to draw it back. So, I'm going to start up here and we're going to move backwards. Your weight still needs to be bent and in the balls of your feet even though we're going backwards. Because, if you keep your weight back here, you're going to lose the tempo of the step. So we have, and it's going to go, brush, heel, step. So, three sounds. Brush, heel, step. Again, brush, heel, step. You're going to put your weight into the right foot so you can use the left foot. Brush, heel, step. And, that is where it's really important to keep your weight forward. Otherwise, you're already going to fall back after we do brush, heel, step. Brush, heel, step, and you're going to fall over. OKay? So, again, five, six, take it four, slow, here we go. Brush, heel, step. Brush, heel, step. Brush, heel, step. Brush, heel, step. And you're always going to know if you're doing your drawbacks right or wrong because, if you're doing them wrong, you're going to end up doing two steps on one foot versus the right way, switching after every step. OKay? Good! Five, six, pick up your tempo, here we go. Brush, heel, step. (dance demo) Good, those are your drawbacks.
